Stationery | Just because with Paperless Post

Keeping in touch with friends is really important to me, and sometimes there is nothing better than sending a surprise note in the post or a photo in a text of a happy memory.

When Paperless post got in touch with me to tell me about their website, I was blown away by the options. I hadn't heard of the brand before and I couldn't believe the designer cards and invites that you can send to friends by email.

At first I was thinking, do my friends really want to receive invites and cards by email? I am a very digital person but when it comes to something like this, normally I would want to sign the card myself to give it that personal touch.

To get started I needed to sign up to the website and I was awarded 25 coins for doing so, which meant I could try out the website and app before purchasing some additional coins. It also meant my friends could reply with a card using their free coins too.

Over the last few weeks it's amazing how many opportunities I have had to send cards or invites where normally I would have just done it in a text or posted a card purchased locally.

From first browse I was in love with the designer options from Charlotte Olympia, Oscar de la Renta, Kate Spade, Liberty and Vera Wang to name a few.

I absolutely love Kate Spade cards and stationery!

After browsing the website, there is just so many options!! I wanted to send my friend Suzanne an invite to come for a sleepover.

It was so much fun, choosing a card there was only one word to type in to see what was available for 'cocktails' I wasn't disappointed with 285 options!

This green one was instantly my favourite from Charlotte Olympia. I selected the card and started to personalise, the text, the fonts and layout. I was then able to select a matching envelope and this one was perfect with the pink interior and leopard tail.

It cost 2 coins for the personalised invite and 2 additional coins for the envelope. To send this by post it would have been from £5.05! My friend was then able rsvp and send me a comment via the email notification I sent.

The next day brought some lovely news which then resulted in me needing to send my friend Kayleigh an engagement card! she was on her holidays and got engaged!!! I was able to send her a card instantly congratulating her and her man about their amazing news! I sent this card with matching lipstick kiss envelope for free!

Many cards are available for free within the website. I didn't choose this one based on cost, it was just exactly what I needed.

Kate Spade is known for her slogans and this 'Eat Cake For Breakfast' birthday card was perfect for my friend Alex. There were 2 colour options, white and gold or black and pink.

This card cost 2 coins plus an additional 2 coins for the beautiful stripe envelope. This wasn't available to print in this gold combination but in Pink it would have been £4.04.

I ended up sending alot more cards mainly just because I could, but I got really into it and it was so easy to do via the app on my iPhone and iPad. It was also so nice to receive some spontaneous post!

If you fancy trying out paperless post, either visit the website or download the app and set up an account using your email address or Facebook. By signing up you instantly get 25 coins then if you want to then continue using the service you can top up for a minimum of £5 which would give you an additional 20 coins.

I am using the app to organise the office Christmas party and I can't wait to wish everyone a Happy 2018 with Kate Spade of course or there is 398 other options!

Fashion | JORD Watch and Giveaway!

It's end of my first summer with my beautiful mini convertible and what a way to celebrate with a fashion post in partnership with JORD Watches.

JORD produces hand crafted time pieces made of wood for both men and women. They are made from different types of wood including Maple, Zebrawood, Koa and sandalwood.

Out of all of the watches available on the website, there was only one for me, 'Frankie 35' in dark sandalwood with mint face - View My Watch!

I ordered my watch directly from the website which included free postage (import charge of £14.95 in UK) but it arrived beautifully packaged within 2 weeks by UPS fully tracked.

At time of ordering I did need to supply the size of my wrist using a paper toolkit they provided via email. It did however still arrive a little large so I got my dad to remove 2 further links for it to fit my wrist perfectly.

Isn't the colour just so beautiful in the sunshine? I love a pop of colour and this watch is not like any other I have in my collection.

The concept of a wooden watch is a total novelty and not the material I expected a designer watch to be made of. The wood made the watch light and easy to wear, compared to my Michael Kors which is quite heavy for everyday wear.

Do you want the chance to own your own JORD wood watch?

I am excited to share that the brand are running a Giveaway where you could receive $100 discount off your chosen watch. The competition is exclusive to my blog and is open until September 24th 2017 11.59pm all you have to do to enter is to provide your email address! Plus if you are not the chosen winner of the draw, everyone who enters will get $25 discount.

Wishing you lots of luck!

Durham | Brunch at Flat White Kitchen

I would say I am a regular at Flat White Kitchen in Durham, but not so regular that they know my name or they save me a spot at my favourite table by the succulents (goals!!!) but if am heading into city it's the only place on my list to grab a coffee if i have time to sit in.

Coffee is always served to perfection and the food is exceptional!

I love introducing friends who are from out of town to FW, they are always impressed with the menu, the presentation and of course the relaxed cool atmosphere.

French Toast with Greek Yoghurt, Caramelised peaches and a sprinkle of flaked almonds

Scrambled egg on sour dough with added bacon and a sprinkle of chives.

My friend opted for the stack of pancakes with maple syrup and bacon, he keeps telling me how amazing these were, personally I would have opted for the blueberry version which look divine!

You can't book or reserve table at FW, so you do have to queue at peak times but not usually for too long and I would rather wait than go somewhere else.

Amazing news is that the brunch menu served until 4pm you can really just take your time to roll out of bed. If you turn up between 12 - 4 you can have the pick of both brunch and lunch menus!

Did I mention... they also do an amazing choice of cakes, which you try to decide on while waiting for your table.

Looking at all this food is making me hungry, and my breakfast this morning looked nothing like this, but I look forward to my next visit!

If you haven't been, make sure you do!  But turn up hungry, just to make it worth while.

Fashion | What's in my Aspinal mini trunk clutch bag?

Hello August....new month means, new bag... doesn't it? Any excuses!

After considering this bag for a couple of months, I have purchased the Mini Trunk Clutch by british brand Aspinal of London

I first spotted the bag within the Leeds store where they had it in so many colours! But it was the black with gold hardware that caught my eye.

I walked away without the bag, but had been considering each week since. I asked some friends what they thought of this quirky bag with mixed response but I had made my mind up, it was the one for me.

I absolutely love the optional personalisation which is available on a number of items, not many places offer this service. For gold embossing like mine prices start at £15 for 4 letters.

I picked this bag up in the Metro centre store, Gateshead last week where they were happy to do the embossing straight away, I just had to pop back after 10 minutes while they organised it on the machine.

The mini trunk is made of beautifully soft leather with gold hardware and has a branded shield lock.

Dimensions: 5.7" (H) x 7.3" (W) x 3" (D)
Handle drop: 2.4" / Detachable cross-body strap: 22
One zip pocket inside

What can you fit inside the mini trunk bag?

Iphone 7 plus
Car keys
purse
2 lipsticks
1 lip liner
1 mirror

It's not loads, but it is the essentials and more than I can sometimes get in my some of my other clutch bags on an evening out. Most importantly it fits my iPhone 7 plus.

Beauty | Peachy Fox - Natural affordable skincare

I have recently discovered a new brand of skincare by Peachy Fox, which is offering natural ingredients at affordable prices.

The first product I tried was the eye gel, I instantly added this to my morning routine (in replace of my usual Garnier) and within 3 days I really felt I could see a difference, I looked rested and the dark circles and puffiness around my eyes had really reduced.

I love that it soaks in quickly when applied to the skin and is scent free.

After 2 weeks use, I purchased the daily collagen retinol moisturiser, I was excited to see the same affects as the eye gel, this product was more a creamy texture. It left my skin hydrated and soft, but I couldn't see complexion changes.

It is so nice to try out some different brands, as I am guilty of just picking up the usual high street choices in Boots or a splurge on Estee Lauder.

I also have The Ordinary on my list to try!

Let me know if you have any more brands I could try!

Life | Coffee on the go with KeepCup

When reading a post over the weekend on Bloglovin from everygirl.com about cutting spending habits, one point of the post in particular stood out and really made me think.

It has made me question about how often I buy a coffee on the go... sometimes when I don't need to and should have saved myself that £4. I do go alot less now my office is out of town, there is only one place I can get one on my daily commute and that is a costa machine in the local petrol station, so it's desperate times if I end up calling in there first thing in the morning.

I have so many take out cups I have collected over the years, but I don't use them as often as I should!

One of the cups I have in my cupboard is this colourful KeepCup!

If you haven't heard of KeepCup before, it is an Australian brand formed in 2009 by a brother and sister on a mission to reduce wastage from their own cafe. They thought there must be a more environmental friendly approach and decided to produce a reusable cup and reward their customer by reducing the price of coffee on the go if they used one. I don't know if local cafes near me do this, but I know starbucks do give a slight discounts if you use your own cup.

So what is different to KeepCup compared to picking up one from Tkmaxx or Starbucks?

It's bespoke to you! There are so many colour combinations, it is rare you will know someone with exactly the same cup (unless you copy!).

I made this one for my brother a few years ago, but he said my colour choices were a bit too bright for him (oops), so I ordered him another (let him choose this time) and I kept this one. It matches my car perfectly!

It's a really lovely cup to drink from as it is super light and with the rubber band it stops your fingers getting too hot.

If you fancy designing your own cup it is made up of 5 elements so you choose the size, cup, band, lid and cap all separately - a complete cup starts at £7.

I am now going to aim to ditch cafes on a regular basis and keep them for special occasions instead, like meeting a friend or if I am somewhere out of town.

Now, if I want some chill out time with a coffee, I know can get all that at home! Like today, I switched off the tv, lit some candles and if I need a treat, I will make some!

Making your own biscuits are so quick and easy, I didn't have any biscuits in for my friend coming over on Saturday so I created these delicious cinnamon shortbread and they were gorgeous! Luckily there were a few left for today's moment of need.

Hope I have inspired you to ditch the cafes or drive thru and consider boiling the kettle instead.

Beauty | Dreaming of paradise - with & other stories

I love summer scented products... ones that as soon as you breathe in the fragrance you are instantly at the beach, sun on your face and dreaming of pina coladas.

While shopping in Leeds on Saturday, I found myself trying out all the bath and body products from & other stories. New in store is the Topanga Waves collection, which takes me straight to the beach.

It is described by & other stories as 'Endless beach days catching coconut waters and pineapple winds' then with the beautiful palm leaf and blue sky packaging, I was in love!

In the collection is hand and body lotion, fragrance, body soufflĂ©, body scrub and body oil all with prices starting at £5.

I picked up the Eau de toilette 50ml fragrance for £26 and the hand lotion 250ml for £5.

Packaging of the fragrance is basic, with only the description printed on the ribbon but i think thats fine for the price and it is the perfect size to keep in your bag to top up through the day.

I have been wearing it for a few days now and I have to top up a couple of times during the day... but maybe that was just for a blast of beach vibes to get me through the day!

If you don't fancy smelling of summer, then I am sure & other stories would have something else to take your fancy.

I also picked up some hand wash as per recommendation by my sister in law,  Lemon Daydream and Miami Muse (candy floss scented!)!

Beauty | A beautiful collection of lipsticks in every shade

These are not the usual lipsticks you would see on a beauty review...

But earlier this week I was browsing the Biscuiteers website and came across these gorgeous copper lipstick cookies which resemble my absolute favourite lipsticks by Charlotte Tilbury!

Before I knew it... they were in my basket and checked out!

A few days later the lipsticks popped through the letterbox and as soon as I opened the gorgeous black and white box there was a wave of vanilla fragrance.

WOW...The cookies looked better than they did online!

They look too good to eat.

From trying out making some biscuiteers recipes in the past, I know they are baked nearly three times during their creation, first for the initial bake of the biscuit base, then for the flooding of the first layer of icing, then to set the detail on the top.

What a perfect treat to send a friend for a celebration or even just a treat for yourself.

Priced at £10 then a delivery fee I can see they might seem like a splurge to some but I know the amount of work that has gone into creating these biscuits.

You can't buy items like this on a high street in the north of England except if you head to Betty's (LOVE!). I might have to try baking some novelty biscuits next time I host an afternoon tea for some friends.

I also couldn't help but pair up some of the lipsticks to my favourite shades of my CT collection, 'Tell Laura' was a perfect match!

If only you could buy a real collection of mini Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks in every shade at the same price.

Other Biscuiteer options I also LOVE!

This post is not sponsored, all items were paid for with my own money and opinions are mine.

Please ask before using my images.
