Yorkshire | Malagor Thai Restaurant, Wakefield

Authentic and yummy Thai food seems to be hard to find, but I have found a new place and the food was delicious!

I discovered Malagor one evening when I was diverted off the M1 motorway when it was closed, when I asked my parents if they had been before.. my mum said, oh yeah i've been there a few times.. well she kept that quiet.

So with it on my wish list since, we had a free Saturday evening and decided last minute to go and turned up without a table booking at 5pm. They said they were fully booked but we were happy when they said there was a table we could have for a short time, which was totally fine as we were hungry!

Our table was in a good location and overlooked the restaurant and there was a constant stream of people collecting their takeaway orders as we were waiting for our starters, so the locals certainly loved it.

We ordered starters to share, Vegetable Spring Rolls, Thai Fish Cakes and Satay Chicken. It was all presented really nicely and I loved the finishing touch of a carrot butterfly.  My favourite was the Satay Chicken as per usual,  I never seem to be able to get it taste like this at home.

Over the years of eating thai cuisine my tastes and menu choices have definitely changed, I used to order noodles or dishes with a side of noodles. Now its all about the coconut curry!

I had a delicious Panang curry when I was in Santorini during the summer and have forever been trying to find a copy. This one was pretty close and it was really yummy with coconut rice.

My mum ordered the Massaman Curry with Chicken and steamed rice.

My Dad ordered this delicious vegetarian seasonal Pumpkin Curry with noodles.

We all really enjoyed our feast, and we will go back again very soon, but I will book a table next time.

However, it wouldn't be the end of the world as they also do TAKEAWAY !!
