Fashion | Summer Palm tree print Bomber Jacket

Just a quick post to tell you about my new palm tree bomber jacket from M&S.

I have been on the hunt for a new bomber jacket for a while, the ones I have seen from Gucci and Maje are just out of budget for me.

I knew I wanted green, and I absolutely adore palm and banana leaf prints during the summer so I knew this jacket was an ideal purchase.

Limited collection at M&S is exactly that, there is only a small amount of each item so if you do see something you have to move quick. I saw this jacket on the M&S website when I was stock checking a different bomber jacket I had regretted not buying. I was like thats it.. I liked the print, the silver trim and if the quality was going to be the same as the one I had previously seen I knew it was going to be a good addition to my wardrobe.

I ordered online with a discount code which has unfortunately expired so I can't share :-(  and I got the jacket delivered to my closest branch the next working day so I didn't have to pay out for postage. win win.

But........ I was glad I made a saving on this jacket as I think I am a little disappointed that it has no lining what so ever.

It hasn't put me off the jacket, as I love the print, and I did want it for summer and I can layer up, but I am glad I made a saving on the original price as I do not think £55 is the right price point for this jacket.

I know it will look great with denim, grey, white and black jeans so I know it's versatile and of course looks fabulous with my green bayswater.

Have you bought a Bomber Jacket for the summer yet?

Fashion | H&M summer jewellery haul

Summer is here in the shops but the weather in the UK can't seem to make it's mind up, we have had all the seasons over the last few weeks.

I do have a summer holiday coming up so I have bought some summer items to wear while I am away and now on reflection I am sure most of my suitcase will be filled with H&M clothes and accessories.

H&M totally seem to be getting it right at the moment, I have picked up some beautiful clothing with lovely detail and embellishments. I will share pics of those once I have worn them in the sunshine.

Orange hoop stud tassel earring £6.99 - not available online, but I saw them instore last week so they should still be easy to find.

I bought these cute earrings about 2 months ago now, when I was looking for something to go with denim. They come in black as well and I spotted a lovely lady wearing them the other day on instagram and I was like they look awesome!

It is tempting to buy what you love in as many colours as possible but I am trying to stop doing this, I've told myself I need to concentrate on colourful earrings while the sunshine is out and I can go back to black accessories when its September.

The newest pair I bought only last week were these gorgeous blue stud earring, I have bought these especially for my holiday as I am planning on wearing alot of white and i think these will look beautiful day or evening.

They are light in weight which is a huge positive as sometimes earrings can be so heavy.

Plus they are brighter than they look in this image, I will have to find the perfect outfit for them to get their first outing.

If you follow me on instagram you already know that I am obsessed with these beautiful green tassel earrings £7.99. I love shape of the metal, the fit and of course the colour.

I also picked up this gorgeous matching necklace £14.99... which I totally think they look a bit much together, but I couldn't choose which I wanted to wear so I just wore both, rules are meant to be broken.

My last item is the cheapest but looks the most expensive in my opinion...

These gold hammered metal earrings I have bought to go with my outfit for my best friends wedding and were only £5.99! More details on the complete outfit in a few weeks after the big day.

Hope you have enjoyed this haul and will consider checking out H&M jewellery, when I was looking back at some of my favourite pieces in my collection, more than I thought I have got from H&M. Clearly my favourite shop of the moment for clothing, jewellery and homewares.

Home | Summer update Bar Cart

My Bar Cart post is one of my most popular, mostly because it is so affordable and still a bit of a novelty. It's a great addition to any entertainment space in your home and a way to keep nice bottles and glasses on show.

I am not a huge drinker, but I do enjoy making a cocktail and having friends round for a get together.

It's been 6 months and my bar cart was looking a little neglected so I decided to buy a few new items to give it a refresh.

Tiger is where I picked up most of my new items, it's a funny little shop, it's packed to the brim and seems to sell everything...from fancy dress, homeware, cookware and herbs.. such a mix you never know what you might find. There are 2 stores near me in Newcastle and Sunderland and there isn't loads of stores so check the website to find out where your nearest store is.

It is super affordable and not items you would keep forever, but it had things I was looking for without having to spend a fortune.

2 flamingo glasses (above) I picked up 2 for £1
4 plastic green cups were a little expensive in comparison at £1 each
Gorgeous glass jug was £3
Flamingo water bottle £2
Flamingo stirrers £1 for 10

My favourite additions to my bar cart were my Pineapple and Coconut cups, Mr P bought them for me as a gift but they are available via the Malibu drink shop or on eBay.

I have been using my cups already by making too many Pina Colada's, see my previous post for a recipe.

I have got a great collection of novelty straws as well as umbrella's and stirrers to add to my drinks. I just picked them up from Tiger, Sainsbury and Malibu shop.

How cute are these flamingo straws in the amazing coconut cups!

It was also a great opportunity to buy a new bottle of Malibu and this gorgeous Bloom gin.

If you do want to start a bar cart, some are really expensive, this one I picked up for less than £20 at Ikea is a perfect starting point and doesn't take up much space at all. Look at my previous post for more info.

Beauty | Bronze Goddess Collection - Estee Lauder

Last summer I discovered Estee Lauder's Bronze Goddess fragrance on my way through the airport on my holidays and it has been a constant favourite for me ever since.

I recently repurchased another bottle and I also picked up the bronzer from the same collection which I am absolutely loving too!

This fragrance has to be summer in a bottle for me with familiar scents that remind me of sun lotion, cocktails and sunshine on my face.... Crazy isn't it that a smell can remind you of things like that. I blame the coconut scent that I can smell for ages afterwards. It provides me with a sense of calm and relaxation.

In reality this is what Estee Lauder says....

"A sensuous, sun-drenched blend of Bergamot, warm Amber, Tiare Flower and Vanilla combined with delicious creamy Coconut"

On the high street you will pay £50 for 100ml (only comes in this size) and as you can see even with daily use over the last 12 months I still have a drop left, so I knew it was time to buy another, I wasn't going to get through another summer without it.

I picked up a new bottle in Heathrow when on an internal UK flight for £38 which I didn't realise at the time was a great saving. It is rare to get 100ml for such a low price but that is because it is marketed as a 'skinscent' and not a perfume. But I can 100% confirm you can wear this as your everyday fragrance.

I have been looking at a new bronzer for ages and I was very close to buying some of the new ones available at Benefit (I am a sucker for Bamboo packaging) but as I wear alot of Estee Lauder make up (never wear any other foundation than Double Wear). I knew this Bronze Goddess Bronzer was going to be a good purchase, high Street price is £33 but in the airport I paid £24 which was a good saving and made it more affordable as I think £33 is more than I think it's worth.

It comes in 4 shades and I picked up the palest in shade 'Light' and it has a high colour pigment to it, so I only need to apply a touch to get that sun kissed glow. This has not replaced my usual contouring with a matt bronzer - currently using the chocolate bar one from Bourjois.

I also love the mirror in the lid so this is a perfect addition to my on the go make up.

What are your summer makeup and fragrance favourites?

Summer | If you like Pina Coladas

I absolutely love Pina Colada's and Timehop reminded me so this week how much...as 2 years ago I was on holiday with an all inclusive package with unlimited Pina Colada's.

So I thought it was about time to make my own.

They are super easy to make, with only 5 ingredients plus lots of ice:

(Makes enough for 4 drinks)

Malibu Rum 1/4 pint
Coconut milk 1/4 pint
Pineapple juice 3/4 pint

Squeeze of lime juice
Fresh pineapple for decoration

Place all the rum, coconut milk and pineapple juice into a blender and add 2 handfuls of ice and blend for 1 minute.

Transfer into a decorative jug for serving and squeeze the lime and add 2 more handfuls of ice.

I served mine in these cute pineapple cups I found online and added some chunks of fresh pineapple.

BBQ time in the garden

What is your favourite summer drink?

I have been updating my Bar Cart to give it a more summery theme and added a few new bottles. Stay tuned for an update next week!
